It isn’t just a trend visiting farmers markets these days, it is a social event, a cultural affair and even more importantly, a culinary must!
Niagara’s South Coast has a variety of fruit stands and farmers’ markets in Welland, Port Colborne and Ridgeway (Fort Erie). The locals love their fresh flavours and visitors come from far and wide to savour the fresh produce, baked goods, natural cheeses, meats and homemade goods that are a Niagara South Coast signature. You may even spot local TV celeb chefs like Anna Olson, known to frequent the farmers searching for the freshest of ingredients. The markets are also the centre of special events throughout the year.
Ridgeway Farmers’ Market (Fort Erie)
With its proximity to the U.S. border, the town of Fort Erie is a prime destination for out of town visitors - many who become regulars at the Ridgeway Farmers’ Market. With over 25 vendors, the market boasts a variety of food choices at a fraction of the cost you would pay in the city. While you are at it, enjoy live music by local talented musicians.
The Ridgeway Farmers’ Market is located on Ridge Road (along the friendship trail) in downtown Ridgeway. Open seasonally.
Hours: 7:30 am - 12:30 pm on Saturdays, May to October (Thanksgiving weekend)
Port Colborne Farmers’ Market
With over 60 vendors, the Port Colborne Farmers’ Market emphasizes farm fresh products and welcomes area crafters. Take advantage of free two hour parking on downtown streets.

Hours: Fridays, 6:00 am - 1:00 pm, May (Victoria Day) - October (Thanksgiving)
7:00 am - 1:00 pm, October (Thanksgiving) - May (Victoria Day)
Welland Farmers’ Market
Since 1907, individuals have flocked to the Welland Farmers’ Market every Saturday for homegrown quality products. The market hosts events throughout the year and with 75 vendors in peak season, it is the largest in the Niagara region.
The Welland Farmers’ Market is located in downtown Welland at 50 Market Square, off East Main Street (on the corner of Young and Division streets). Open all year.
Hours: 6am - 12pm every Saturday.
