Port Colborne’s West Side Tennis Courts get a makeover

Looking to swing a tennisracketor pickleball paddlethis summer? Good news, the City has recently resurfaced theiroutdoor tennis courts to accommodate both tennis and pickleball.Utilizing deferred budgeted funds,the Parks Department invested $60,000 into the courts at 143 Helen Street. Court Services Specialists, based out of Toronto, were contracted to complete the project.Features of the courts include:-Four tennis courts that can also be converted to eight pickleball courts;-Fiberglass playing courts with a rubberized blue paint;-Screening around the courts to diminish effects of wind; and-Lighting for evening play.“These are really our courtsof dreams”, commented Mike Audit, parks foreman. “Now that we’ve built them we really want to see them get used”
